OBAMA’S BOW
Last week on his visit to Saudi Arabia, Barack Obama in one of the meetings with King Abdullah of Saudi, TV images showed him taking a bow while shaking hands with him. This has enraged the conservatives saying that this is a breach of protocol and why should he take a bow when he should have greeted him as a peer and not as his subject.
Whereas, in defense the Whitehouse has maintained that there are no specific rules laid for bowing and that he was stooping over to shake hand with the 85 year old monarch
and that the President’s stoop does not qualify as a bow.
